Common Good Development was founded on a simple conviction: Non-profits should not be second class citizens when it comes to their development options. Instead, created out of a love for exceptional physical space development, we exist to perform analysis and developmental options that not only ensure their flourishing, but that enhance beauty and permanence in the landscape. We understand that a Way of Life exists for Oklahomans that is more fully preserved by the existence of healthy non-profits.
Often non-profits are left to view their properties as liabilities and a structural weight to the organization. However, we exist to offer creative work on proforma development by turning excessive land-holds and wasted space above and beyond mere renovation or ground-up construction for traditional use.
While we are willing to work with for-profits, particularly in moments where they are organizationally collaborative with non-profits, our goal will be to encourage new models of development. These models are designed to ease and encourage the financial burden that all non-profits feel.
We believe that beauty and permanence in the built environment aren’t luxuries reserved for commercial developers. Non-profits deserve spaces that reflect the significance of their missions — facilities that inspire the people who use them and endure for the communities that depend on them.
We go beyond traditional renovation to find development options others miss.
We pursue quality and beauty that lasts, because your mission isn’t temporary.
We work alongside our partners, not above them.
Every decision we make is filtered through what serves the broader community.

Joe Carr founded Common Good Development with decades of experience across real estate, business operations, and community development in Oklahoma. His passion for non-profit organizations — and his frustration with the limited development options available to them — drove him to create a firm dedicated to bringing exceptional property development, financial analysis, and strategic partnerships to the organizations that serve the common good.
Nathan Carr co-founded Common Good Development after a lifetime of service to Oklahoma's non-profit community, long before he ever had a title for it. As Headmaster of The Academy and Priest at Saint John's Episcopal, his work has always centered on fundraising, community stewardship, and helping mission-driven organizations thrive. After being appointed head of strategic development for the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma, he saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between first-class real estate development and the organizations that exist not for a cash-out point, but for the good of the community, present and future.
